    An example that cultures do Lakoff-map differently:

    Translating "use the stairs/phone/bathroom" into Russian as
    "use" (vospol'zujtes') inevitably generates rhetoric effects of
    "foreignness", simply because those things are not "used" in our conceptual
    map. Such expressions and can even be interpreted as ironic (echoic/disassociative),
    given the hearer speaks English and it is manifest to him that phones and
    bathrooms are "used" in that language).
