The phatic perlocutionary effect can be communicated both at the level of
single utterances (speech-acts, sentences) and at the discourse level
(e.g. absurd literature).

Note: An exhaustive RT approach to translation of utterances, which produce
perlocutionary phatic effects is presented in Gutt (2000) (pp. 42,
155-158, 162).
