in a book called "General Translation Theory", written in
Russian, while reviewing Dr. E.-A. Gutt's book "Translation and Relevance",
in one of the chapters, under the title "E.-A. Gutt's "Relevance Theory" writes:
"his approach is based on the concept of relevance of English psychologists
Sperber and Wilson" :)
Now, both foreign to the Russian ear last names Sperber and Wilson can be
viewed as belonging to either 2 men or 2 women, 1 man and 1 woman.
The genitive case of Sperber in Russian is really "Sperbera". The
question is, why on Earth does the author automatically expect that
another co-author of "Relevance Theory" is also a man and writes:
"Sperbera i Wilsona" (instead of "Wilson").
