The University of Hertfordshire invites applications for a Research
Studentship in Linguistics. Currently, staff research interests include
the following: child language acquisition, including bi-lingualism and
disordered development, conversation analysis, systemic linguistics,
lexical semantics and pragmatics, in particular relevance theory. Informal

This posts is based at the University of Hertfordshire's Watford Campus,
within easy reach of London. The studentship is tenable for 3 years and
studentship holders are required to register for a research programme
leading to the award of MPhil or Phd. An annual bursary is payable, which,
for the 2000/2001 academic session, is £7,850, and the University
registration fees will be waived. The successful applicant will take up
his/her studentship in October 2000.
