NETPhon Database of Teaching
Materials for Phonetics
The Working Party on Phonetics Teaching materials set-up by the NETPhon Discipline
Network has assembled a database of materials which are available for assisting with the
teaching and learning of phonetics. This database was originally derived from a survey
of the phonetics community carried out in the Spring of 1995. The team responsible for
maintaining this database (Gerry Docherty, Sandra Whiteside, Helen Pandeli and Martin
Duckworth) would welcome news of further developments so that Web resource can be
kept up to date.
In this first version, the entries in the database are indexed broadly acording to whether
they are software or audio-visual tools (i.e. based on video or audio-recordings but not
computer-assisted) and listed by author. In this first version, pending further
development, links are provided to a selection of the teaching tools of which we have
details, presented in no particular order, according to author.
