I think it could be bad news not to have start AND end points, even if the
info is sometimes redundant. Labelling syllable boundaries would be a case
in point: sometimes the end of one syll = the start of the next, but at
other times -- e.g. with ambisyllabicity -- it doesn't. Can we track down
the solution Sebastian proposed?
