Re: Monday's agenda

Monday's agenda looks fine to me. One thing JKL and I might add is the
phonological feature system. I hope we'll have something concrete to say
about that on MOnday. Basically the issue is that we want to ensure that
the features we use give us as much easy reference to the sorts of things
that Sarah and Jill are interested in as possible. If you prefer, we can
deal with this as a document by phone or e-mail later; I don't think I
have time to put my thoughts on paper this weekend. But we'd appreciate
any ideas you might have on this on Monday.

We're coming down on the 8am train, which hopefully will be on time. This
means we ought to get to UCL by about 10.10 or so. Paul Carter is coming
with us, so he can meet those he doesn't know and vice versa, and get a
better idea of what the project involves. He will need to leave early
though.

Mark/Alex - could you add Paul to the list please? pgc104@york.ac.uk.

I can now also tell you that I've been granted my research leave for
autumn 1998, and am planning to spend it not in Cambridge with Sarah and
Co. I want to do some work on the phonetics and phonology of function
words, which I hope will also be synthesisable at some point in the
project.
