Subject: Semantics-Pragmatics post at Sheffield
There is a vacancy in the Department of English Language and Linguistics
at Sheffield for a temporary appointment in Semantics and Pragmatics for
5 months from September 2005 to January 2006. The successful post
holder will be required to provide undergraduate teaching for the
level-three undergraduate module on Semantics, Pragmatics and Discourse,
and be prepared to contribute to teaching on other modules at both BA
and MA level. There will be opportunities for the post holder to
undertake specialised teaching in their own area, where appropriate.
The post holder should have a good honours degree in an appropriate
subject and a sound knowledge of aspects of semantics, pragmatics and
discourse. A PhD in a relevant area would be an advantage. This post
is available for five months from September 2005 to January 2006. The
closing date for applications is 24 June 2005.
