MA in Pragmatics, University College London
A new advanced MA devoted to Pragmatics will be launched at UCL in the next
academic year (starting September 2004). The programme coordinators are
Deirdre Wilson and Robyn Carston. The degree will focus on the
relevance-theoretic approach to pragmatics for which the UCL department is
internationally known, but will also consider other approaches, including
more philosophical perspectives such as those of Francois Recanati and Kent
Bach, and neo-Gricean accounts such as those of Larry Horn and Stephen
Levinson. Relevant experimental and other empirical work in pragmatics
