    Relevance Theory Workshop
    UK-RTW 12 January 2004 - 30 January 2004

ETP UK is pleased to announce a three week workshop designed to introduce
    the participant to Relevance Theory.
The workshop will include formal presentations of the theory by those who
have worked with it over many years and plenty of time to unpack it and
apply it to linguistic analysis and / or translation work that you have been
    engaged in.
This opportunity is ideal for those who have heard talk of Relevance Theory
but have never had a chance to explore it more fully. The staff will be
available to work with you on real language data that you bring to the
workshop. It will also be suitable for those who are relatively new to
language work and want to equip themselves with an understanding of this
theory that seeks to cut to the heart of how we use language.
So whether you want to gain an understanding of the underlying concepts of
the theory and gain a sympathetic understanding of where the theory fits in
current linguistics or whether you want to get involved in applying RT
insights to real language data, this workshop can help meet your needs.

Workshop coordinators are Dr Christoph Unger and Dr Regina Blass.

This course will be taught in English at Horsleys Green.
