We are delighted to announce that the 12th Postgraduate Linguistics Conference at the
University of Manchester will be held on the 12 April 2003, following the 3rd NWCL

postgraduates for postgraduates, to present their research and exchange ideas.

There will be a number of papers (20 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion) on a wide
range of linguistic topics, and a guest lecture by Robyn Carston of UCL (see below).

We welcome submissions from all postgraduates in any area of linguistics, from
phonetics and phonology, to syntax, to sociolinguistics. Please see the 'Guidelines for
    Submission' below.

The proceedings of the conference will be published in the Papers in Linguistics of the
    University of Manchester (PLUM).

The conference will be followed by a wine party hosted by the NWCL, and so we invite
you to join us for a farewell drink at the end of the day (or week, for those of you who
will have been to the NWCL Research Training Programme).
