    Currently there is only one reference that I can find that directly relates
    to impoliteness and relevance:

        Austin, Paddy. "The Dark Side of Politeness" which is in 'NZ ways of
    Speaking' I think.

    There is a small body of literature on Relevance and politeness and the
    references to those can be found at the Relevance literature homepage and
    within these articles:

    At the moment this is a pretty open field.
