There is the new book by Gallistel on memory systems, which is really
exhaustive.
Another important article on memory is the following:
Klein, Cosmides, Tooby, Chance
entitled
'Decisions and the evolution of memory: multiple systems, multiple
functions'.
I suppose these Darwinian approaches are STILL of importance.
But I do not know what you may think about this.
