Rooms:

I will try to ensure that there someone in the building who can open
the doors and let people in from 9am onwards. Jill has said she can be
here by 9.30am, I will try to get here by 10. Let's aim to start the
meeting at 10.

Agenda:

I think it is important to address two issues before we work on the
proposal proper:
        - what is the current state of work on the project?
        - what deliverables are we actually going to produce by
          the end of the project?

Then I think we should divide the proposed work into convenient
sections for description and planning: I have these chunks currently:

1. Word prominence (Richard) function words etc
2. Intonation (Jill) relation to rhetorical structure
3. Segmental quality (Sarah) articulatory reductions and acoustic modelling
4. Articulation rate (Jana) relation to rhetorical structure
5. Materials (?) conversion of existing databases
6. Interfaces to other projects (John?) UEA, CSTR, HCRC
7. Dissemination (Mark) software and web infrastructure

I think I am right in saying that perceptual testing will not be
a separate work package, but integrated into 1-4.

research section and can try to write this here on Friday as far as
possible.

The aim for the meeting is to have a pretty fleshed out proposal
by the end of the day and specific tasks allocated to complete it
by the end of November.

It would help if all could bring text in word processor form, or mail
them to me in advance.

See you tomorrow

Mark
