    Dear All

I have put the latest version of the sources for the XML tools on
    the FTP site in
            ftp://synth.phon.ucl.ac.uk/pub/prosynth/ucl-xml.000803.tar.gz.crypt

    This version has:
            - changes to how sentence stress marks (`) interact with
lexical stress marks (' and ,). Now if a word does not carry
sentence stress then any primary stressed syllables contained
within it are ignored. Also secondary stress marks are only used
to create new feet, not a new AG. I am sure this is still not
completely right. But at least you can experiment and tell me
              what is really required.
            - ProXML Vs 1.1 This is a major enhancement to the language
with global variables, arrays, and access to the marked-up text.

I have been unable to log in to kiri.ling.cam.ac.uk to update the
version there before I go away on holiday. If you need these
changes urgently, you will need to unpack it and run the SGI makefiles.

    Mark
