Dear All,
Sarah couldn't reach Nigel Birch yet (he wasn't in at the EPSRC), so we
will need to wait till Monday before we will know whether the project can
actually be extended or not. In any case it seems to be clear now that we
do have to delay the testing, since we need Mark to record the stimuli
before we can proceed. Since Mark won't have time till Thursday (January
27) or Friday (Jan 28) next Week, we suggest that we use the time to
finalize the test corpus. This would give us Wednesday January 26, as
deadline for the test sentences. If it turns out that the project can be
extended for two month we could delay this further, of course.
This also means that we have to delay the visit of the RA's in Cambridge
at least till Monday January 31, because we have to have the recordings of
the test sentences, before we can go ahead and start producing stimuli.
The meeting should be long enough allow Paul and Rachael to get confident
in HLsyn to produce stimuli on their own. But, I think it would be very
helpful if we also could try to get a big chunk of actual work done while
they are here. Paul, Rachel: Please contact me and tell me when and how
long you can be here.
All the best
Sebastian
