Dear fellow researchers,

I've just joined the Relevance Theory reading list. I have a background in
Modern Languages, African linguistics, biblical languages, theology and
Bible translation in minority languages. I work for SIL International, which
has an interest in applying RT to translation. Over the past 5 years I have
taught RT to students in DRC who are training as Bible translators in
Congolese languages.

I've just started a PhD at King's College London looking at the Ancient
Greek connective 'gar' in the New Testament. I hope to use RT as a
theoretical framework to understand 'gar' better. I'm interested in
exploring new ideas about the possible relationship between connectives,
epistemic vigilance and an argumentative module in the mind.

Looking forward to keeping up with new developments in RT via this list,

Sarah
