Dear all,

Thanks to Mai for her question about translations of Relevance. According to my
records, the following translations have already been published:

  - French translation: Editions de Minuit, Paris 1989.
  - Russian part-translation (2 chapters): Progress Publishers, 1989.
  - Japanese translation: Kenkyusha Shuppan, 1993 (second edition 1999)
  - Korean translation: Hanshin Pub.Co, Seoul, 1993 (second edition 2007)
  - Italian translation: Edizioni Anabasi, Bologna, 1993.
  - Spanish translation: Visor, Madrid, 1994.
  - Malay translation: Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Kuala Lumpur, 1999.
  - Portuguese translation, Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, 2001.
  - Special English/Chinese edition, Foreign Language Teaching and
Research Press, Beijing 2002.
  - Chinese translation, China Social Sciences Press, 2009.

In addition, a Polish translation is well under way, and the
Hungarian and Arabic rights
have also been granted (though I'm not sure what stage these last two
have reached - if anyone
has news of them, do let me know...).

I should say that in every case, the initiative came not from the
publishers but from our translators
themselves, who have given their time and skill with enormous
generosity. Dan and I are very conscious
of how much relevance theory owes them, and would like to thank them
all for the huge contribution
they have made to bringing the book to new readers.

All the best,
Deirdre
