Hi all,
I'm doing a postdoc at the Philosophy of Language Institute in the New
University of Lisbon, Portugal. At the moment I'm working on the troublesome
Gricean notion of "what is said", and its importance to related notions such
as "implicature", "meaning" and "intention" (basically the idea is to see
what havoc the elimination of "what is said" as a theoretically viable
notion would wreak in the Gricean edifice; I know RTheorists propose to
dispense with this notion, and they're not the only ones). Thanks in part to
the invaluable help of some friends, I was able to assemble (almost)
everything relevant published by (and about) Grice. There is, however, an
important missing piece: the essay "Intention and uncertainty", published in
the Proceedings of the British Academy, 57, 1971. My question then is: does
anyone happen to have an electronic copy of this paper and if so, could send
it to me? (or a printed copy through snail-mail)? I would be eternally
grateful. Please reply off-list to the address below.
Cheers,
Luiz Carlos Baptista
