DEPARTMENTAL RESEARCH SUPPORT FUND

The Departmental Research Support Fund is available to support any member of Phonetics and Linguistics Department staff (including research staff and teaching assistants, full and part time) who wishes to apply for financial assistance in order to carry out some research-based activity. For many this will take the form of applying for help to attend conferences but the fund is not limited to this.

Staff and PG students are asked to apply also to the Graduate School for funding and research staff should also explore the possibility of travel being funded through their research grant(s).

Applications should be sent to Judith Crompton, Departmental Administrator, by email or on paper. Deadlines for each term's applications will be announced at the staff meeting in the first week of term. Applications are considered by the Committee (currently John Wells, Neil Smith, Stuart Rosen) and the results of the applications are conveyed to the applicants by Judith.

Individual grants will normally be limited to £200 per person per application. More than one application may be submitted each year but preference will be given to those who have not submitted a previous successful application within that academic year.
