The Workshop on Empirical Approaches to Speech Rhythm (EASR) was held at UCL in London on 28th March 2008. The workshop was hosted by the Centre for Human Communication (CHC) at UCL and is jointly organized by researchers from UCL and the Universities of Bonn, Bristol and Oxford.

We hope you will find this website a useful resource of the workshop. The book of abstracts will soon be available for download on the presenters page. Please contact us if you require any further information (rhythm2008@phon.ucl.ac.uk).

It is intended that a limited number of contributions to the workshop may be published in a special issue of Phonetica. Initial selection of papers (oral AND posters) will be made after the workshop with a view to compiling a thematically coherent publication. Selected papers will subsequently be reviewed.

We thank the numerous participants from all over the globe for contributing actively to the success of the workshop.
