FIXED PHRASES IN ENGLISH: USE AND RHETORICAL STRATEGIES

University of Perpignan – Via Domitia : 22-23 October 2010

'Fixed phrases in English: use and rhetorical strategies' aims at
exploring English fixed phrases, and in particular the concept of
fixation (/fossilization) and the characterization of fixed phrases,
as well as their formal and semantic properties. One of the central
subjects of interest will be their use in context – from a pragmatic,
rhetorical or discourse analysis perspective.
