PC Hardware Y2K Compliance


The information in the lists accessible below for Dept of Phonetics & 
Linguistics PCs Y2K hardware compliance have been obtained by network 
probing systems.

If columm number 9 lists "OK" then the PC name listed in column 2 will
automatically change its date correctly on 1st Jan 1999. 

Any networked WIN95/98/NT PC's name can be found at the PC by clicking on:-
Control Panels
Network
Protocols
TCP/IP
DNS
When the name - eg pc20 will appear in window "Host Name"


"Roll" in column 9 means the date won't change automatically. 

A blank in column 9 means that the PC's ability to automatically make this 
change correctly is unknown.

PCs not changing their date automatically can after 1st Jan 2000 be manually 
set by typing "date" and/or "time" at DOS/Command prompt and typing in correct 
date/time when prompted.   


A small percentage of the information given in these lists concerning
operating systems etc will have been incorrectly determined.
