UCL Division of Psychology & Language Sciences

About Language Sciences

Chandler House AtriumThe Division of Psychology and Language Sciences was formed in January 2008 through the merger of the former departments of Psychology, Phonetics & Linguistics, and Human Communication Science.

Teaching activities within the Division are organised by a divisional-level teaching directorate, while research activities are organised through 6 research departments:

Research also takes place in a number of associated research centres within UCL.

About the same time as the administrative merger into the Division, staff from the two Departments of Phonetics & Linguistics, and Human Communication Science also moved into a single building: Chandler House (see picture on right).
